On January 15,2026 Occupational and Physical Therapists working in Louisiana Schools will convene in St. Tammany Parish for their Annual Lead OTPT Annual Summit Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Treen Technology Center, 2024 Livingston St. Mandeville, LA 70448 on January 15, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration will be accepted through December 15, 2025. Lead OT and PTs from each parish and charter school are encouraged to attend free of charge.
The meeting will provide a chance for lead therapists to collaborate on implementation of Bulletin 1508 revisions, Medicaid claiming, multi-tiered systems of support, transportation safety, and allow discussion of school health related services related to OT and PT practice in schools.
Meeting Objectives:
● Increase consistency of OT and PT screening and evaluation through review of current guidelines, updates to practice acts, updates to Bulletin 1508, evidence-based practice guidelines, and document sharing.
● Discuss the impact of OT practice act updates on Medicaid billing in the school setting and updated guidance on CMS documentation
● Discuss the role of OT and PT in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
● Provide avenues for collaborative review of current barriers to student participation and access and discuss assistive devices for student success
● Provide updated guidance on special transportation
